Celebrating Earth Day
at the complexe de divertissement Hôtel-Casino
de Charlevoix
One more step for our planet !
LA MALBAIE(Québec), Thursday April 11, 2024 — As part of its mission to make a difference, the complexe de divertissement Hôtel-Casino de Charlevoix is proud to celebrate Earth Day for a second year. Although Earth Day is officially on April 22nd, the complexe’s celebration will be held on Saturday April 20th. A host of activities will be offered to raise visitors’ awareness, including enlightening conferences with environmental experts, fun activities for the kiddos, and a 100% locavore five-course dinner prepared in collaboration with guest chefs from the Charlevoix region.
EARTH DAY PROGRAM
In anticipation of Earth Day, Saturday April 20th promises to be a day of inspiration at Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu. Fairmont is delighted to be part of the movement for change, putting the environment at the heart of its concerns, as illustrated by its prestigious Five Green Keys certification. The exciting April 20th program is designed to rally the public behind this worthy environmental cause. It all kicks off at 10am with a historical tour of the hotel, followed by a do-it-yourself workshop at 11am. Then, between 1:30 and 5pm., five conferences will be held on the topic of preserving the St. Lawrence River. Expert partners from La Biosphère de Charlevoix, GREMM, Défi Saint Laurent, Parks Canada, and La Baleine Nomade will share their knowledge and passion for the conservation of this vital ecosystem. All daytime activities are free of charge.
The evening promises to be particularly special for food lovers, who can reserve a table at the Saint-Laurent restaurant and discover a locavore menu specially conceived for Earth Day. The five-course meal will spotlight local foods produced within a 100 km radius of the hotel, created by five local chefs: Félix Lavoie from Auberge de la Marmite, Patrick Dubé from Hôtel Le Germain Charlevoix, Luc Pouliot from Le Sainti restaurant in Saint-Irénée, and Emmanuel Chavant and Kevin Leroy from Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu. Reservations are currently available online for $99 plus taxes per adult.
STARDUST – A NEW THEMED SUITE
Starting in May, a new themed suite will be available on the property for a stay in tune with the planet. The Poussière d’Étoile (Stardust) Suite at Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu, created in collaboration with the Observatoires Astronomique et de l’Astroblème de Charlevoix, pays tribute to astrophysicist Hubert Reeves, who held a lifelong fascination with the meteorite impact in Charlevoix over 450 million years ago. The Suite, which features geological and astronomical motifs from the region, can accommodate up to four people in its open-plan layout, with a king-size bed in the master bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. The Suite can be booked as early as May at a cost of $709 plus taxes and resort experience fees.
